The Pakistan Monument is a national landmark and heritage museum that can be found in Islamabad, Pakistan, on the western Shakarparian Hills. The monument was built as a representation of Pakistanis' shared togetherness. It is dedicated to the Pakistani people who gave up their "today" in order to have a brighter "tomorrow".
The architectural design was inspired from Mughal Empire. Its elevation makes the monument visible from across the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan area. The concave insides of the structures of its petals depicting images of the Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, Khyber Pass and Minar-e-Pakistan.
The plan for a National Monument was first envisioned in 2002 by government of Pakistan then assisted by Uxi Mufti, son of Mumtaz Mufti. The Ministry of Culture was tasked to organize through Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners; a national monument design competition based on the theme of signifying strength, unity and dedication of the people of Pakistan into an icon representing an independent and free nation. From a total of 21 submissions, 3 were short-listed. The final design proposed by Arif Masoud was selected. It symbolic meaning represents the unity of people. It is dedicated to the people of Pakistan who sacrificed their “today” for a better “tomorrow”. Which attracts both domestic and foreign tourists. It represents cultural unity and art of design inspired by Mughal Empire. The four main petals of the monument represent the four provinces, while the three smaller petals represent the three territories.
یہ دارالحکومت اسلام آباد میں واقع ہے۔ اس یادگار کی بلندی کو پورے اسلام آباد-راولپنڈی میٹروپولیٹن ایریا سے دکھائی دیتی ہے۔ اس کی پنکھڑیوں کے ڈھانچے کے اندر کا مقعر قلعہ لاہور، بادشاہی مسجد، درہ خیبر اور مینار پاکستان کی تصاویر کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔
قومی یادگار کے منصوبے کا تصور سب سے پہلے 2002 میں حکومت پاکستان نے کیا تھا پھر ممتاز مفتی کے بیٹے اوکسی مفتی نے اس کی مدد کی۔ وزارت ثقافت کو پاکستان کونسل آف آرکیٹیکٹس اینڈ ٹاؤن پلانرز کے ذریعے منظم کرنے کا کام سونپا گیا تھا۔ ایک قومی یادگار ڈیزائن مقابلہ جس کا موضوع پاکستانی عوام کی طاقت، اتحاد اور لگن کو ایک آزاد اور آزاد قوم کی نمائندگی کرنے والے آئیکن کے طور پر ظاہر کرنا ہے۔ کل 21 گذارشات میں سے 3 کو مختصر فہرست میں رکھا گیا تھا۔ عارف مسعود کی طرف سے تجویز کردہ حتمی ڈیزائن کا انتخاب کیا گیا۔
اس کا علامتی معنی لوگوں کے اتحاد کی نمائندگی کرتا ہے۔ یہ پاکستان کے عوام کے لیے وقف ہے جنہوں نے اپنے "آج" کو ایک بہتر "کل" کے لیے قربان کر دیا۔ جو ملکی اور غیر ملکی سیاحوں کو اپنی طرف متوجہ کرتا ہے۔
یہ ثقافتی اتحاد اور مغل سلطنت سے متاثر ڈیزائن کے فن کی نمائندگی کرتا ہے۔ یادگار کی چار اہم پنکھڑیاں چاروں صوبوں کی نمائندگی کرتی ہیں، جبکہ تین چھوٹی پنکھڑیاں تین خطوں کی نمائندگی کرتی ہیں۔
